5 Tips for Traveling to Bermuda

I just got back from Bermuda and I will write a post that is more in-depth about all the activities we did there, but I wanted to share a few things you need to know:

1. Tip is often included in your bill so make sure to pay attention.

2. Rent a moped! It’s the best way to get around the island. Tourists can’t rent a car and taxi’s are very expensive. If you do rent a scooter, remember: they drive on the left side of the road.

3. The island is 22 miles long so I recommend staying at a hotel in Warwick as it is in the middle of the island. You only have to drive half an hour to get to each tip.

4. Every meal is extremely expensive. Every item on the menu is more expensive than how it would be priced over here in the States. I recommend going to a local grocery store to buy some breakfast and lunch food to keep prices down.

5. This goes along with tip #4 but many of the beaches don’t have a place to get lunch right on the beach (except for Tobacco Bay and Horseshoe Bay Beach). You have to drive a few minutes to get to a restaurant. Buy a cooler at a gas station and pack your own lunches for those beach days.

5. Bring cash! They accept American money and their money is equal to our money, but credit card companies do charge you a fee for each time you use it. That can add up. Cash will save you money.
